Welcome to
the Zonta Club of Charles CountyMaryland! The Zonta Club of
Charles County is a member of the worldwide service organization,
Zonta International. Zonta International is a classified service
organization of executives in business and the professions,
whose goal is advancing the status of women worldwide through
community service, locally and on an international level. Zonta
International has Consultative status with several United Nation
Organizations, which include UNICEF (United Nations Children’s
Fund) UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) and
ILO (International Labor Organizations).
The Zonta Club
of Charles County was chartered by Zonta International in
1981. The club sponsors an annual Fashion Show which is our largest fundraiser. Known locally as a social
event of the year, our tickets sell out well in advance of
the date of the show. The event raises thousands of dollars
for local and international charities each year.
Club members serve
the Charles County community with many service projects each
year. We are primary sponsors of the Charles County Women’s
Fair, an event each spring advancing the status of local women.
Our annual RAVE (Rape And Violence Eradication) Walk each
spring brings recognition to the issue of violence against
women. Our scholarship program provide scholarships for high
school seniors and women returning to college.
